Job objective The Senior Advancement Officer is a dynamic, entrepreneurial, relationship- and revenue-focused leader responsible for driving moCa’s fundraising through high-value donor cultivation, new market sales, and revenue diversification strategies. Serving as a key advisor to the Kohl Executive Director and critical member of moCa’s Senior Leadership Team, the SAO provides experience and data-driven insights to support executive decision-making and institutional strategy. This role oversees the Advancement Department (3 staff members), leading efforts to cultivate, solicit, and steward a portfolio of individual, corporate, foundation, government, and nontraditional donors—while advancing high-impact partnerships and earned revenue opportunities. The SAO also leads the development and growth of the moCa NOW Donor Program, engaging high-level patrons and corporate members via exclusive access and experiences that deepen their commitment to moCa’s mission. Duties & responsibilities Strategic Leadership & Department Oversight Serve as a trusted advancement advisor to the Kohl Executive Director and collaborative member of the Senior Leadership Team, delivering actionable, data-informed recommendations that support institutional growth. Lead the Advancement Department in setting, tracking, and evaluating fundraising strategies, departmental goals, budgets, and performance metrics aligned with moCa’s strategic objectives. Collaborate with the Finance team to analyze and interpret financial data, creating comprehensive budgets and long-term revenue projections. Revenue Strategy & New Market Expansion Develop and execute an annual funding plan that balances stewardship of current donors with new market penetration. Identify and pursue new revenue sources including corporate partnerships, sponsorships, government support, and nontraditional donors. Lead end-to-end sales efforts for donor and corporate engagement: prospecting, pitching, negotiating, and closing agreements. Create customizable giving and sponsorship packages tailored to diverse audiences. Collaborate with the Engagement Department on initiatives supporting membership, events, and other revenue opportunities. Fundraising, Donor Relations & moCa NOW Program Manage a portfolio of high-value individual and corporate donors, ensuring consistent growth in engagement, giving, and retention. Lead cultivation and stewardship strategies for the moCa NOW Donor & Corporate Program. Oversee donor recognition, communications, and high-level cultivation events including the annual gala and exclusive moCa NOW experiences. Secure contributions that support operations, exhibitions, special initiatives, endowments, and capital campaigns. Performance Management & Analytics Apply data analysis to generate insights that shape revenue strategy. Build and maintain revenue forecasts, dashboards, and reporting tools. Optimize Advancement Department operations using project management tools (e.g., Asana) and best practices to increase efficiency and impact. Minimum qualifications Qualifications Bachelor’s degree required (business administration, finance, marketing, communications, or related preferred). At least 10 years’ direct experience and success in nonprofit development, corporate sales, B2B partnerships, or equivalent revenue-generating roles, with at least 4 years in a related leadership role Proven track record in securing major gifts, corporate sponsorships, new market sales, and campaign support. Capital and endowment campaign experience preferred. Reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Advanced writing and editing skills with ability to create strategic, persuasive content. Strong financial acumen: able to interpret and communicate budgets and fundraising results. Demonstrated success managing and motivating teams. More: John Giorno Poet and visual artist John Giorno was born in 1936 in New York City. He attended Columbia University and worked as a stockbroker for a short time before meeting Andy Warhol in 1962. A romantic relationship ensued, and Giorno was featured in Warhol’s first film, Sleep (1963). The influence of pop art and Warhol’s Factory are evident in Giorno’s work, which developed out of verbal collages of appropriated texts drawn from advertising and signage. In 2010, he had his first solo gallery show, Black Paintings and Drawings , which focused on the development of poem painting. He lived in New York City until his death in late 2019.

Title Round Dave Jordano, 6 photographs from the (Human) Landscapes series, 2019 Add a Title More: Dave Jordano Dave Jordano (Born Detroit, Michigan, 1948) received a BFA in photography from the College for Creative Studies in 1974. In 1977 he established a successful commercial photography studio in Chicago, IL, shooting major print campaigns for national advertising agencies. Since 2000, Jordano has concentrated on fine art documentary photography. He received the Curator’s Choice Award for his documentary work and has been selected as a top 20 finalist in Photolucida's “Critical Mass” International Photography Competition several times. A major exhibition of his work from the “Articles of Faith” project was held at the Chicago Cultural Center, Chicago, Illinois in 2009. Jordano won the prestigious Canadian AIAMI / AGO Photography Prize in 2015, which included a $50,000 stipend and a six week residency in the northern arctic town of Iqaluit, Nunavut, Canada. Jordano has exhibited both nationally and internationally and his work is included in several private, corporate, and museum collections. She was for many years a professional concert violinist after training at the Royal Academy of Music (then the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts). Her first solo exhibition in the United States was at Laurence Miller Gallery, New York, in 1996. Jin Ming has exhibited widely in Europe, the US and the Far East including the National Museum of Beijing, and the Hong Kong Museum of Art. Her work is held in collections at the Art Institute of Chicago, the Museum of Fine Arts Houston, the Los Angeles County Museum of Arts, the Smithsonian Museum of Art, and the Microsoft Art Collection, among others. She is celebrated for work that captures the chaos and power of nature in almost Abstract terms, photographing masses of sunflowers and lotuses dying, the pyramids and sand dunes of Egypt, and the turbulent ocean. Job objective The Donor Stewardship Director cultivates and maintains relationships with individual and corporate donors, overseeing the full life cycle of donor stewardship activities to ensure ongoing engagement and sustained financial support. This position plays a central role in fundraising: developing, nurturing, and managing mutually beneficial philanthropic relationships to strengthen the museum’s financial position and overall advancement strategy. Duties & responsibilities Oversees the museum’s “moCa Now” donor stewardship program, managing a portfolio of individual and corporate donors, crafting compelling stewardship plans tailored to donor interests, motivations, and the museum’s priorities, building a pipeline of prospects, and achieving institutional fundraising goals for each group, achieving renewal retention rates of >80% as well as success securing annual individual gifts up to $10,000and corporate gifts up to $25,000. Collaborates with the Chief Advancement Officer to secure sustainable funding beyond the moCa Now program through customized donor cultivation, special sponsorships, and innovative fundraising initiatives. Develops and executes a comprehensive, data-driven fundraising program to identify, qualify, and cultivate donors capable of substantial financial contributions. Creates and executes strategies to engage emerging donor groups, expand outreach efforts, and transition highly engaged donors into major gift prospects, increasing their support over time. Implements and documents the donor stewardship process, ensuring a consistent and concierge experience from initial discovery to personalized acknowledgements, strengthening donor relationships through comprehensive donor relations plans while re-engaging lapsed members. Leads the planning and coordination of donor stewardship for development events with the Special Events and Development Programming Manager to meet fundraising, budget, and sponsorship goals. Tracks and reports on donor stewardship activities, helping to analyze metrics to refine strategies, identify growth opportunities, guide tactical and operational decisions, identifying trends and patterns. Manages assigned budgets, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and financial guidelines. Demonstrates proficiency in project management and integrates organizational strategy with business operations to achieve objectives effectively. Minimum qualifications Education: Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution preferred; equivalent combination of education and experience in lieu of degree. Experience: 5+ years of direct development/fundraising experience in a non-profit role, with a focus on donor relations and stewardship. Experience: Proven track record of successfully managing and growing relationships with individual donors resulting in sustainable gifts Preferred experience: Strong ability to identify and evaluate new fundraising opportunities, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and strategically pursuing relevant funding prospects.
