Sun. Mar 05, 11AM-12PM
Yoga w/ Diona Roberts
Registration required
ONsite at moCa
Join Diona Roberts for a Sunday morning Vinyasa Yoga class where she creates a safe space for healing and self-reflection paralleling Amber N. Ford's project, Someone, Somewhere, Something.
Diona Roberts, 200RYT from Cleveland, OH, aims to create a safe space where all members of the community can come together through breath, mindfulness, body movement, and meditation to experience the benefits of yoga! No matter your age, ethnicity, race, or physically ability, there is always a yoga mat with your name on it in Diona’s class, a space to experience the self-love and healing practice of yoga.
Physical fitness is often idolized by many but we often neglect our mental fitness. Through the practice of yoga we are able to unite through breath, movement, and meditation.
Someone, Somewhere, Something was developed during Ford's time as moCa's Artist-in-Residence. While in residence, she gathered audience responses about their experiences of loss and trauma. Similarly to Roberts' Vinyasa practice, the resulting sound and text-based work encourages more intentional mind-body connections.
Participants are invited to bring a yoga mat, towel, blanket, or pillow to use during this program. A limited amount of yoga blocks and mats will be provided.
If you are in need of a mat or comfort item to participate, have questions about the program, or if there are access services or accommodations that can make your experience more inclusive, please contact lleving@mocacleveland.org. 1-2 week's advance notice is recommended but not required.
