Story Time w/ Adam Davis
FREE
ONsite at moCa
Story Time is the first of many intimate gatherings replicating the communal environment of fine artist Adam Davis’s studio at the historic St. Elmo Village.
Adam Davis is an educator, artist, advocate, and practitioner in the art of collaboration. He obsessively seeks to apply his passion for creativity, communication, and storytelling to assist in finding solutions to problems that hinder diverse and equitable cultural progression at the intersection of the arts and education. As a griot his works delve into building scaffolded archives on the African diaspora to ensure that the invaluable stories shared by communities around the globe are preserved for centuries to come.
Get immersed in Story Time at moCa Cleveland in partnership with CLE Print Room.
Acting simultaneously as performance, Q&A, and introduction to the long term legacy project Davis has created called Black Magic, attendees will be encouraged to make history under one roof.
Davis will make 5 portraits, tell 5 audience selected stories from his travels around the country, and answer 5 questions from those in attendance. The catch: Davis asks you to leave your phones at the door. Your presence is integral to real connections being built.
Click here to learn more about Davis’s work.
Please plan ahead to arrive early. Any attendees arriving 10 minutes after will not be admitted. The flow of our time together is very important and disruptions will be kept to a minimum.
