Axis Mundo: Queer Networks in Chicano L.A.

Season 2, Episode 3

w/ Chad Kouri

Known for his vibrant, abstract compositions, Chad Kouri is an artist based in Chicago, IL. His work examines themes commonly associated with visual literacy—specifically how we see, read, and remember the world around us. “Ultimately I want my work to operate as a vehicle for greater understanding of ourselves and the world around us, creating a dialog between viewer and artist that transcends color and shape. While considering these intentions, I continually push the limits of my practice, never confined by one single medium or mode and method of creation. As a result, my work is able to live in white cubes, city parks, modest apartments, museums, commercial spaces, private residences, dingy clubs, workspaces and dusty bookshelves around the world.”    —Chad Kouri
