Summer Season Opening Night Party

June 12, 2015 / 7:00pm

Free + open to all

Welcome summer and our season-long celebration of artists in the region at this free community party.

Be here to help kick off two new exhibitions How to Remain Human and Tony Lewis: free movement power nomenclature pressure weight, each running through Sept. 5.

The exhibition curators discuss the show at 7pm, followed by live music and kid-friendly activities throughout the Museum and on Toby’s Plaza.

Ten-piece band Hybrid Shakedown will drive the beat into the night. A well-seasoned and heavily talented ensemble with a fearless approach to the impromptu, they'll bring Afrobeat, reggae, funk, and electric dance music -- a global dance groove for a "unique twist on genre-mashing endeavors." Plus, indie rock band, These Knees opens.
