Free Opening Night Party + Concert with Mark Mothersbaugh
Free + open to all
Myopia Mania is coming! Kick off MOCA’s summer season with a free outdoor party and concert - with Mark Mothersbaugh in person - to celebrate the opening of two exhibitions with Ohio roots: Mark Mothersbaugh: Myopia and Richard Myers: Aberrations.
Myopia was organized by the Museum of Contemporary Art Denver. Joint presentation with the Akron Art Museum.
Meet Mark Mothersbaugh: myope, singer, visual artist, art rock revolutionary, tinkerer, songwriter, polymath, visionary. Born in Akron and best known as co-founder of DEVO, Mothersbaugh has been making raucous art since before the band’s inception, collapsing visual and musical boundaries. A fellow Ohioan, independent filmmaker Richard Myers’ Aberrations includes four dream-like films shot around Cleveland from the 1960s-80s.
