Artist Talk: Claudia Comte on Zigzags and Diagonals
Free + open to all
Surrounded by her massive wall painting Zigzags and Diagonals (2018), Claudia Comte will reflect on her approach to creating responsive, large-scale murals and installations that transform natural and architectural environments. Although Comte’s work often concentrates on line, form, and color, historical references abound in her practice. As Artforum states, she is an artist with “extraordinary craft” who “toys with the viewers sense of space” through her dynamic use of elements and tools. Come learn more about her new, monumental project at MOCA and its connections to other international works.
Major support for Claudia Comte: Zigzags and Diagonals is provided by Joanne Cohen and Morris Wheeler. The exhibition is also made possible with the support of the Swiss Arts Council Pro Helvetia, and the City of Lausanne.
