MOCA Cleveland

Museum of Contemporary Art volunteers give generously of their time and talent and greatly assist MOCA in our mission of providing unique art programming and experiences to the community.

Because of the attention that our exhibitions and events receive, we are routinely in need of volunteers. Volunteering at MOCA is an ideal way to surround yourself with fantastic art and meet interesting people while assisting a popular arts institution.

Interested? send an email here or download and complete the volunteer application below.

Front Desk Attendants
Front desk attendants are a MOCA visitor's first impression of the museum. From accepting admission fees to answering questions, the way visitors are greeted creates the foundation for their experience. An attendant's ability to interact with people in a friendly way is the key to a positive museum experience for the visitor. If you have daytime availability and an outgoing personality we would like to hear from you. Front desk attendants commit to regularly scheduled 4-hour daytime shifts. Evening and weekend special event shifts are also available.

Museum Store Volunteer
ArtSpace, the hippest museum store in town, is the place for upbeat people with outstanding customer service skills. ArtSpace volunteers provide many services including the selection and purchase of merchandise, maintaining the neat appearance of the store, pricing and restocking shelves. You must be dependable, trustworthy and tactful under pressure. ArtSpace volunteers commit to regularly scheduled 4-hour daytime shifts. Evening and weekend special event shifts are also available.

Docents
Docents are volunteer educators who train to tour each exhibition at MOCA and in many cases meet the artists whose work is on view. If you love sharing your enthusiasm for and expertise on contemporary art and have daytime availability, find out more about becoming a docent.

Office Volunteers
Attention to detail and a cheerful personality are the requirements for clerical volunteers. Your help is needed for filing, mailings, and many special behind-the-scenes projects. We request your availability to work a minimum 2-hour shift 1-2 days per week during regular office hours.

Special Event Volunteers
Special event volunteers have the most varied of all the volunteer experiences at MOCA. Anything is possible from music to film, high society events to children’s workshops. Whatever your interest and regardless of your availability we have something for you! Click here for a list of upcoming events.

Benefits
In appreciation of their time and energy, MOCA volunteers receive FREE membership to MOCA Cleveland, entitling them to free parking, free admission to the galleries, invitations to all openings and special events, the seasonal newsletter and other program announcements as well as a 10% discount to ARTspace.
