October 15, 2015 / 7:00pm

Free + open to all

Adam Lerner is the Director and Chief Animator of the Museum of Contemporary Art Denver (MCA Denver), and curator of the wildly successful touring retrospective of Mark Mothersbaugh’s work, Myopia, which will come to MOCA Cleveland in the summer of 2016 in a joint presentation with the Akron Art Museum. Widely known for co-founding the band DEVO and scoring Wes Anderson films, Mothersbaugh has expressed a consistent artistic voice far beyond music in his prolific career that includes drawing, printmaking, sculpture, photography, painting, and much more. In this public lecture, Lerner will dissect the extraordinary landscape of Mothersbaugh’s artistic world. Initiated in fall 2003, the Nesnadny + Schwartz Visiting Curator Program brings distinguished curators to Cleveland to conduct one-on-one studio visits with local artists to provide professional exposure and critical feedback from accomplished art world professionals. (Applications are no longer being accepted. Please look out for future opportunities.) In addition to studio visits, NSVC curators deliver a public talk on their curatorial work and perspective.
