Artists on Art: Sarah Kabot on Next Day (New York Times, pages A1–A28)

October 21, 2017 / 2:30pm

Free with Museum Admission

Artists on Art leverages the expertise of artists working right here in our region through monthly, in-gallery talks about one or more artworks on view in MOCA’s exhibitions. Sarah Kabot will discuss Next Day (New York Times, pages A1–A28) by Doug Ashford, featured in the exhibition A Poethical Wager. Kabot creates works that emphasize the overlooked, forgotten, or hidden structures that frame and shape our perceptions. One of her recent projects focuses on extracting and reimagining images found on the front pages of The New York Times. Kabot is Associate Professor and Chair of the Drawing Department at the Cleveland Institute of Art, and was awarded the 2017 Cleveland Arts Prize for Mid-Career Artist. More information on her practice can be found at sarahkabot.com.
