   Re-Weaving the Neighborhood Fabric
A public, open-mic discussion of ideas about revitalizing Cleveland's communities
  FREE

This program is part of Building our Future Beyond Foreclosure, an 11-part forum organized by the Maxine Goodman Levin College of Urban Affairs at Cleveland State University.  This program is also in collaboration with the Cleveland Neighborhood Development Coalition.

5:30 - 6:30 pm:  Tour the exhibitions

6:30 pm:  Program begins

This program is meant to address the provocative and sensitive realities facing Cleveland communities in ways that inspire and encourage positive forward thinking.  After introductory remarks by program partners and artists selected for the "Neighborhood Watch Video Competition," audience members will be invited to respond to different questions about foreclosure, revitalization, and community.  All respondents will have 90 seconds to make remarks.  Some of the following questions will be asked:

* Is there unexpected good that has arisen from the current foreclosure crisis?  Do you see people working within the community in ways they have never worked before?  What do you think these trends might lead to?

* Statement: "Cleveland has nowhere to go but up."  Agree or disagree?  Why?

* With demolition outpacing construction in Cleveland, can you give examples of innovative ways residents and/or "entrepreneurs for sustainability" are putting vacant land to good use for the community?

* How would you resolve one problem hindering progress in your neighborhood?

* What role do you think art plays in the revitalization of our neighborhoods?

* Mayor Jackson has made a commitment to creating "Neighborhoods of Choice."  Why do you choose to live in your neighborhood?  If you could choose to live in a different Northeast Ohio neighborhood, which one would you select and why?

* What positive changes do you see taking place in your neighborhood that have or might stimulate progress in education and/or social interaction?

* What is the one thing that you want everyone to know about your neighborhood?

This event is catered by DISH Deli and Catering
